Getting Started

Wow! I have finally made it here, to the point where I am actually typing the first blog entry for my very own blog. I have spent the last few days reading every piece of information I could find about how and why I might consider keeping a blog. The purpose of this blog is to reflect upon my learning from my participation in the Murdoch University unit EDN113 - Living and Learning with Technology.

Today I spent time looking at a few of the blog technologies available and have decided to try Blogger. So this entry is my 'test' entry. Will it work? I do not know the answer to that yet.

This unit (EDN113) has already been a challenge for me. I have no previous knowledge of any of these learning technologies. We are only in Week 1 of Semester 1 and already I have joined Skype and Diigo, watched my lectures using ECHO, attempted to participate in a Live Classroom, and requested a login for PebblePad so that I can begin my e-portfolio. I have no idea what I am doing, but as I am an experienced procrastinator I decided that the best thing to do was just get started. Thankfully we have been provided a Wiki full of useful technologies called the Technology Toolbox for Educators.

The Technology Toolbox for Educators

I hope that as the weeks progress it will become more natural for me to blog. It feels to me at the moment as though I am putting my personal thoughts out there into a space where they shouldn't be allowed to go. Right now I am cringing at the thought of somebody reading these words.

That is all I have to say.... for today.
